A very Special Seaside Railway

One of Scarborough’s top seaside attractions the North Bay Heritage Railway, Sky Trail and Historic Water Chute is a great family day out. The locomotives, scenery and history of the railway all add up to make it a fantastic day.

The North Bay Railway is a great way to travel to Scarborough Sea Life Centre with our regular public transport service train. Now more than just a heritage railway bring your family to explore the Sky Trail, thrill on the historic Water Chute, face the challenge of the Water Balls or take things more leisurely on the boating lake.

Our seaside attraction is family friendly and accessible for pushchairs, wheelchairs and mobility scooters. We are also 100% dog friendly and dogs are welcome to travel on the train free of charge but we do ask you keep your dog on a short lead.

Covid 19 update 1st August 2020 – Do you bit to help protect yourself.

To help protect everyone who visits NBR you will see all our staff wearing a mask or visor, unless they are protected by a screen. You will be asked to sanitise your hands on entry with the sanitiser we provide or your own. We request a mask is worn on entry and whilst queuing, you can remove the mask when your on the train or at a table within the Lake area. We ask everyone to respect social distancing at 2 meters. We continue to clean each carriage compartment, tables, Pedalo Boats and Water Chute after each use. Door handles and other touch points on a regular basis.

North Bay Heritage Railway is now running a regular train service throughout the day.

The Historic Water Chute, Boatman’s Tavern and Scampi Shack are now open.

Tickets are available to buy via our website or on arrival at North Bay Heritage Railway.

NBR will be Covid-19 compliant and we ask all visitors for follow the simple rules. Safety of passengers and staff will be put first!

Just a reminder all 20/21 Season tickets are valid until 31st March 2022, any train or attraction vouchers will be extended until 31st October 2021 these include ones issued by Yorkshire Coast Radio, Great Yorkshire Radio and NBR. All Driver Experiences will be rearranged once the social distance restrictions are lifted (we are not putting an expiry date on these experiences) We are constantly reviewing these dates and will extend them if needs be.⠀
