Locomotive Neptune No 1931

Locomotive Neptune No 1931

The North Bay Railway started with an opening ceremony that took place at 2 p.m. on Saturday 23 May 1931.

The railway is the oldest and main attraction at Northstead Manor Gardens. It is a 20 inch gauge railway, and one of the oldest seaside miniature railways in the country.
Your ride begins in picturesque Peasholm Park, where one of our  locomotives takes you through parkland, past the Scarborough Open Air Theatre, and out on to the Scarborough coastline. Here you travel up the hill towards Scalby Mills Station with fantastic sea views on one side including North Bay, Scarborough Castle and the Sea Life Centre.

Charter a Train at North Bay Railway

Take your party on the historic miniatuture train for a memorable return trip between Peasholm Park and Scalby Mills Stations, without the option to drive – just as fun!

Cost: £120.00 for a private party (outside of normal running hours) – maximum 65 people.

On Open Air Theatre Show days the North Bay Railway and all Attractions will close at 4:30pm, show dates are listed in the Open Air Theatre Website
